About us
For over 35 years, ATS EdgeIT has been helping its customers optimize production, products, and processes in machining. We achieve these Smart Manufacturing solutions using CAD/CAM, DNC communication, machine monitoring, verification, and optimization of NC programs.
ATS EdgeIT includes one key CAD system: Designer. With Designer, you can model directly, meaning there's no history tree to manage. This system allows you to apply all your actions directly to the 3D model. PMI (Product and Manufacturing Information) data is particularly important when used in conjunction with a CAM system. CAD/CAM systems for controlling lathes, milling machines, or turn-mill combinations have undergone enormous development in recent years. Toolpaths can be calculated increasingly quickly and intelligently by generating the milling paths with a constant engagement book. This allows products for both milling and turning to be manufactured much faster and more efficiently. Edgecam uses the Waveform strategy for this purpose, which ensures that the pressure on the cutter remains constant and the maximum cutting length of the tool is used.
For verification, the CAD/CAM system is usually sufficient. Edgecam offers full 3D machine simulation that is always implemented specifically for your machine. Precisely with the ranges and capabilities of your machine, precisely the configuration you have. If you want to go a step further using a true digital twin for simulation and optimization, there are verification systems that work just like your CNC machine. This is based on NC code and can be generated by any CAM system or with handwritten NC code. Vericut and NCSIMUL both offer this option for true one-to-one simulation. Test runs are a thing of the past with these systems. VERICUT is also equipped with NC program optimization capabilities. Based on the original programmed feed rates, VERICUT can determine the optimal safe feed rate for each cut. Cycle times can be drastically reduced. Optimized feed rates not only result in fewer broken tools and longer tool life, but also in better workpiece and surface quality thanks to minimal deflection and constant pressure on the cutter. This optimization is based on the unique properties of different materials and is very easy to use!

NCSimul
The smart, high-performance CNC machining verification and simulation software With over 20 years of R&D, NCSIMUL G-code verification technology has become a combination of the best performing simulation software available on the market and the standard for “ease of use” in today’s software offerings. Available for turning, drilling, milling (3 to 5 axes), multi-tasking or even more complex machining, NCSIMUL Machine is the most advanced machining verification software for simulating, verifying and optimizing CNC programs. Based on the real characteristics of your CNC machine, the result is a dynamic verification software that captures the exact environment for all machines, tools and materials. While the practical interface demonstrates CNC collision detection using sharp 3D graphics in real time, the powerful attributes of the software optimize cutting tool feeds and speeds to reduce part cycle time. Workshop collaboration is also possible thanks to a built-in function that generates CNC technical documents, which can be shared and reviewed together with the simulation on the NCSIMUL player. NCSIMUL Machine is available as a standalone software, scalable to your needs. It facilitates your CNC verification process and integrates closely with your IT system via CAD/CAM interfaces. Designer
More and more users are choosing the CAD solution from Hexagon. Designer from Hexagon is supplied as a standard CAD solution with, among other things, every Edgecam and WorkNC system. Customers with active maintenance on one of these CAM systems even have Designer at their disposal free of charge. It is an ideal system in addition to your current CAD solution when a CAD for CAM system is required. Designer is the connection between CAD (3D drawing) and CAM (Production), Designer is ideal for drawing your clamping devices, easily adjusting or repairing 3D models or of course just drawing. This makes Designer the ideal solution to go from 3D to production. Drawing with ‘Direct modeling’ Direct modeling means that adjustments can be made directly to a model. This means that drawing can be done without the limitations of the drawing history. Instead of drawing by specifying a long series of steps parametrically, with Direct modeling you can move the geometry and surfaces directly. Pull out, remove and adjust to get exactly what is desired. These changes can be completely free or controlled by the exact values that are needed in relation to geometry that is already there. This means that insight into how a model was originally drawn is no longer necessary. Direct modeling gives you complete freedom to adjust the models and the models that have been created can be imported and exported in one of the many file formats that Designer supports. The wide range of import options ensures that users can work with data from almost any supplier. Very large files can be easily opened and optimized and files that work with complex designs will benefit from the simplicity with which the CAD data can be manipulated or supplemented. In addition, PMI data can be read in, an important item of a CAD system.

VERICUT
VERICUT enables the reduction or even elimination of manual testing of NC programs. It reduces scrapped workpieces and repair work. The program can also optimize NC programs to save time and to obtain a better surface quality through a constant cutting condition. VERICUT simulates all types of CNC machines including the machines of the market leaders such as Mazak, Makino, DMG/MoriSeiki, Okuma, Hermle, etc.

EDGECAM
EDGECAM from Hexagon offers a complete CADCAM solution for all machining operations, such as milling, turning, turn-milling and wire EDM. Complex operations such as 5-axis simultaneous milling can also be programmed without any problems.
