Ruben Spansier, the Senior Work Planner at ALES Metaaltechniek, played a crucial role in choosing the most suitable calculation software. His responsibilities include leading work preparation and ensuring accurate cost calculations. When considering the right software, saving time, reducing manual checks and covering risks were the most important considerations.
“Calculate has made us more efficient in preparing calculations. Previously we had to check a lot manually. You then just have to find all the numbers on the drawing. Now cleaning data is also faster than before. In addition to sheet metal, we can now also include tubes in the calculation, which makes Calculate an indispensable tool for ALES.” Says Ruben Spansier.
THE COMBINATION OF SPACECLAIM AND CALCULATE
ALES Metaaltechniek uses both ANSYS SpaceClaim and Calculate. While they previously used a different drawing package, SpaceClaim offers significant advantages for their specific work. SpaceClaim enables ALES to effectively recover unoptimized STEP files provided by customers. Once restored and loaded into Calculate, the software ensures a direct export of a correct STEP file, which significantly simplifies the work process.
