NIL | BIL welding symposium “Stay prepared for the future of welding”.
On Thursday 8 October 2026, the Netherlands Institute for Welding Technology (NIL), together with the Belgian Welding Institute (BIL), will organise a new edition of the NIL | BIL welding symposium during Welding Week 2026. The symposium will focus, among other things, on the most important developments in equipment, materials, research, working conditions, quality, economics, training and regulations.
The symposium is intended for everyone who encounters welding and joining issues in their work, from process selection to quality aspects.

The NIL welding knowledge event 2025 was a great success. With many enthusiastic participants in a full room, specialists from the field discussed the most important developments. These included major updates in international standards such as ASME IX and EN-ISO, changes in the standards for welding procedure and welder qualifications, and the new frameworks relating to working conditions.
It was also an enjoyable day, where new contacts were made and there was plenty of opportunity to catch up with industry peers.
